Case description

Our factory provided a comprehensive, bespoke furniture solution for Yung’s Bistro, furnishing every area from the semi-open circular booth section and central dining hall to the scenic terrace and exquisite private dining rooms. Our key products included emerald-hued leather banquettes, marble round tables with metal edging, woven-texture dining chairs, and vintage brass decorative frameworks. By deeply integrating classic Cantonese sentiment with contemporary industrial sophistication, we achieved a sensory resonance between traditional cultural motifs and the modern lifestyle.

A core challenge inherent in this project’s context lay in mitigating the wear and tear resulting from high-frequency contact with diverse materials, while simultaneously ensuring the visual stability of nostalgic color palettes under varying lighting conditions. The client’s primary concern stemmed from the space’s extensive use of colors evocative of Hong Kong’s heritage—specifically emerald green, vintage gold, and natural wood tones. Given the complex interplay of artificial and natural light sources within the K11 MUSEA complex, these culturally significant hues were highly susceptible to color shifts or textural inconsistencies. Furthermore, as the restaurant specializes in refined Cantonese cuisine, the furniture is frequently exposed to contact with hot tableware and grease splatter. The owner was concerned that traditional leather upholstery and stone tabletops might develop irreparable indentations or oil seepage after prolonged, heavy use—issues that could ultimately compromise the brand’s premium image.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a “spectrally constant” color-accuracy technology alongside a composite heat- and stain-resistant treatment protocol. To resolve the issue of color deviation, we developed a specialized, weather-resistant color formulation for the emerald leather upholstery. This formulation successfully passed xenon-arc aging tests—simulating full-spectrum, all-day lighting conditions—thereby guaranteeing that the furniture retains its lustrous and uniform coloration regardless of the transition between indoor and outdoor lighting environments. Regarding tabletop craftsmanship, we applied a dual-layer treatment to the marble round tables: a heat-dissipating structural reinforcement on the underside combined with a surface-level nanocrystalline ceramic protective coating. This approach significantly enhanced the stone’s thermal shock resistance—while preserving its natural tactile quality—and successfully withstood rigorous penetration tests involving 100°C hot oil. Finally, to complement the space’s overall sense of refinement, we treated all metal components using a combination of Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and an anti-fingerprint matte finish. This technique effectively resolved the persistent issues common to metal fixtures in high-traffic public spaces—namely, the tendency to accumulate greasy residues and surface scratches. The project results demonstrate that the custom-made furniture successfully upholds the space’s rich cultural heritage; the furniture’s warm, refined texture establishes a profoundly harmonious material narrative in dialogue with the terrazzo flooring and the wall-mounted lattice screens. Furthermore, even under conditions of extremely high table turnover, the furniture surfaces have retained the pristine quality they possessed upon initial installation.
