Case description

The dining furniture featured in the main dining areas of Villa De Bear—a teddy bear-themed restaurant located in Thailand—was custom-manufactured and supplied by our factory.

The project’s objective was to seamlessly integrate European architectural aesthetics with a highly literal, narrative-driven theme centered on a toy factory. The primary challenge lay in designing furniture that could not only withstand the rigors of high-frequency restaurant use but also precisely replicate the specific textures associated with various industrial production stages—such as material preparation, sewing, and packaging. Furthermore, we had to address the inherent safety hazards posed by the restaurant’s extensive use of irregularly shaped decorative components—such as gears and sewing machine shafts—as well as the structural stability issues often associated with multi-material joinery.

To meet these challenges, we implemented a design strategy that integrated figurative industrial forms with concealed structural reinforcement technologies. We ingeniously embedded mechanical transmission structures—mimicking actual factory machinery—directly into the designs of the tables and chairs. Additionally, we developed a proprietary composite coating that successfully balanced the visual appeal of vintage metal with a tactile surface that is pleasant to the touch. These designs underwent rigorous mechanical analyses regarding edge curvature, stability testing for irregular joints under high-frequency vibration, and structural fatigue testing spanning thousands of cycles. This comprehensive validation process ensured that the furniture would visually embody a rugged industrial aesthetic while delivering uncompromising safety and reliability in practical application.

The final results were outstanding: this bespoke furniture system not only served as the perfect foundation for the toy factory’s immersive narrative environment but also—thanks to its exceptional durability and interactive elements—emerged as a central highlight driving social media engagement and word-of-mouth publicity for the venue. The client subsequently provided feedback confirming that this fully customized solution had successfully achieved a seamless synergy between a narrative-rich spatial design and the demands of high-intensity commercial operations.
