Case Description

For this project, our factory provided a comprehensive, custom furniture solution covering multi-dimensional, layered collaboration zones, curved island workstations, and agile workspaces. Key products included multi-functional oak workstations, modular sofas, and acoustic felt units. By deeply integrating the architectural forms of Istanbul with the distinct color palette of the Bosphorus, we achieved a balance between a sense of urban narrative and high mobility within a non-standardized spatial layout.

A primary challenge inherent in the project’s context was bridging the gap between the monotony of a standard skyscraper core and the diverse demands for workplace flexibility across different generations of employees. The client’s specific pain points centered on how traditional, rectilinear circulation paths often induce psychological fatigue, and the significant divergence in environmental preferences among a multi-generational workforce. Consequently, the greatest functional and logistical challenge lay in creating a non-repetitive visual landscape within an irregular space—one that simultaneously fosters egalitarian collaboration and evokes the comfort and warmth of a home environment.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a biophilic furniture development strategy—rooted in the “Savanna Theory”—alongside a multi-material acoustic solution. We utilized digital modeling to translate the urban skyline into a varied, stepped furniture topography, thereby breaking the rigidity of the building’s structural shell. We pioneered a seamless composite bonding technique for oak and recycled felt, employing color rendering tests under simulated natural light to ensure visual harmony. To meet the demands for mobility, we engineered a custom, self-leveling caster system; this system endows the modular furniture with exceptional gliding precision—validated through rigorous fatigue testing involving tens of thousands of roll cycles—thereby ensuring the capacity for flexible reconfiguration throughout the workday.

The project’s outcome demonstrates that the custom furniture has successfully transformed into organic, living entities that define and delineate natural “sanctuaries” within the workspace; their dynamic forms actively encourage spontaneous interaction among employees. The client praised our factory for successfully translating biophilic design principles and utilizing sustainable materials to deliver a furniture system imbued with a sense of urban scale. They noted that this solution not only significantly improved the office’s micro-environment but also truly realized the vision of an innovative workplace—a destination where employees choose to gather out of genuine desire, rather than mere obligation.
