Case Description
The furniture for the main office areas of Ernst & Young’s Mauritius office was all supplied by our factory, covering a professional audit office area, an SAP technical consulting area, a business negotiation area, private meeting rooms, and a staff relaxation and collaboration area.
As one of the “Big Four” global accounting firms—and serving as a Center of Excellence for the EMEIA region—the EY Mauritius office faced a core challenge: its office furniture needed to strike a balance between a professional, rigorous brand identity and diverse operational requirements. It had to accommodate the focused work demands of services such as auditing and taxation—specifically ensuring the privacy of client data and sensitive documents—while simultaneously facilitating the collaborative work scenarios required for SAP technology consulting. Furthermore, the furniture needed to align with EY’s global office standards and sustainability philosophy. Compounding these challenges was the limited availability of local procurement resources in Mauritius, making it difficult to ensure that furniture quality and style remained consistent with EY’s global offices. Traditional furniture options also suffered from issues such as insufficient privacy, poor adaptability to hybrid work models, and failure to meet environmental standards—rendering them inadequate for supporting EY’s professional service image and talent acquisition goals.
Leveraging our factory’s global-scale customization capabilities, we developed a solution that deeply aligns with EY’s “hospitality-style” office philosophy and sustainability mandates. We utilized eco-friendly, recycled board materials that meet LEED environmental standards, paired with a minimalist yet sophisticated design aesthetic to ensure stylistic consistency with EY’s global offices. Specifically, for the audit zone, we designed workstations featuring sound-dampening partitions and filing cabinets equipped with security locks to safeguard confidential information; for the SAP consulting zone, we deployed modular, connectable collaboration tables to facilitate team co-creation. Meeting rooms were furnished with high-definition conferencing-ready furniture setups, designed to support both local office operations and global remote collaboration. All products underwent rigorous testing—covering durability, environmental compliance, acoustics, and load-bearing capacity—to ensure uncompromising quality. Finally, we established a dedicated cross-border logistics and localized installation system to overcome the delivery challenges inherent to the Mauritius market, providing a comprehensive, end-to-end solution that spanned design, manufacturing, international shipping, and on-site installation.
Following the project’s completion, the office space emerged as a minimalist yet professional environment that seamlessly blends comfort with privacy. The furniture was precisely tailored to accommodate diverse operational scenarios—ranging from auditing to SAP consulting—thereby adhering to EY’s global brand standards while simultaneously meeting local operational requirements. Furthermore, the furnishings are eco-friendly, durable, and fully compatible with a hybrid work model, effectively enhancing both employee productivity and the client reception experience. This outcome garnered high acclaim from both the EY Mauritius office and the global procurement team, who recognized that the furniture design perfectly embodies EY’s core purpose of “building a better working world.” Consequently, the project has established us as a premier partner for custom office furniture solutions across EY’s international network of offices.
