Case Description

Our factory supplied all the furniture for the primary administrative offices and clinical support areas at the Dingqiao Campus of the Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This comprehensive supply covered core spaces such as administrative offices, medical staff workspaces, research and education zones, and patient reception areas.

As a Grade 3A TCM hospital—a top-tier classification—that integrates medical care, education, and research, the new Dingqiao Campus features a modern, prefabricated interior design. This design required a delicate balance between preserving the rich cultural heritage of TCM and adhering to stringent infection control protocols. Furthermore, the Dingqiao Campus demanded a unified aesthetic across all furniture; consequently, standard, traditional furniture proved incompatible with its prefabricated spatial layout. Such conventional furnishings also failed to meet the rigorous requirements for infection control—specifically, the need for high-frequency disinfection and the elimination of hard-to-clean “dead zones.” Additionally, the research and education zones required specialized furnishings to accommodate the unique demands of TCM research and instructional demonstrations. Finally, the bulk procurement of furniture for the new campus necessitated a balance between practicality and cost-effectiveness—a standard that ordinary furniture, lacking the requisite antimicrobial properties and durability, could not meet.

In response to these challenges, we specifically utilized medical-grade antimicrobial panels paired with seamless edge-banding technology to minimize cleaning dead zones. This approach ensured compatibility with the flexible layout of the prefabricated interiors. All furniture underwent rigorous testing to verify compliance with hospital-grade standards for environmental safety, abrasion resistance, and antimicrobial efficacy. We innovatively adopted a modular, detachable design to ensure adaptability across the varying spatial dimensions of the hospital’s two campuses. Simultaneously, we incorporated minimalist Chinese aesthetic elements to align with the hospital’s identity as a TCM institution. We also provided a one-stop service encompassing both furniture installation and subsequent maintenance, thereby circumventing the compatibility issues often associated with traditional procurement processes.

Following the project’s completion, the administrative offices and clinical support areas now present a neat, standardized appearance. The furniture not only complies with strict infection control standards but also elegantly reflects the cultural heritage of TCM, effectively enhancing both medical staff efficiency and the patient reception experience.
