Our factory supplied all the office furniture for Yixing Fourth People’s Hospital—covering the medical staff offices, administrative areas, clinical collaboration zones, patient waiting areas, and teaching and training facilities.

Established in 1951, this comprehensive hospital integrates medical care, disease prevention, medical education, and rehabilitation services. As a teaching hospital affiliated with the Medical School of Jiangnan University, the facility expanded its capacity to 450 beds following a recent upgrade and now encompasses over 30 distinct medical disciplines. The core challenge regarding its office furniture lay in balancing the professional rigor of clinical practice, the functional adaptability required for teaching and training, and the humanistic warmth essential for patient care. The furniture needed to strictly adhere to the hospital’s stringent infection control protocols; accommodate the high-frequency workflow of medical staff—including medical record storage and clinical collaboration—while simultaneously meeting the specific demands of medical education and training. Furthermore, it had to align with the hospital’s service philosophy of “warmth and care,” catering to the diverse and differentiated needs of various departments. Traditional off-the-shelf furniture proved inadequate for simultaneously supporting both clinical and educational environments; it lacked sufficient antimicrobial and stain-resistant properties, making it ill-suited for the rigorous, high-frequency disinfection protocols required in a hospital setting. Similarly, standard custom furniture often failed to account for a hospital’s educational mandate, rendering it incapable of meeting the specific functional requirements of training scenarios. Moreover, such solutions struggled to strike a balance between practical utility and humanistic warmth, ultimately failing to align with the hospital’s dual strategic positioning in both advanced medical development and medical education.

Leveraging our factory’s core expertise in custom manufacturing, we designed solutions that precisely address the hospital’s dual identity as both a medical institution and an educational facility. We strictly adhered to universal technical standards for hospital furniture, utilizing medical-grade, eco-friendly, and antimicrobial panel materials. Every piece of furniture underwent rigorous testing for antimicrobial efficacy, stain resistance, environmental safety, and load-bearing capacity; the antimicrobial rates achieved meet or exceed medical-grade standards. Our seamless design minimizes hard-to-clean crevices, thereby fully supporting the hospital’s infection control and prevention requirements. We implemented precision customization tailored to each specific environment: the medical staff offices are furnished with ergonomic desks and chairs, alongside multi-tiered medical record storage cabinets, designed to alleviate fatigue from prolonged sitting and facilitate high-frequency administrative tasks. The teaching and training zones feature modular, reconfigurable furniture layouts that include designated spaces for training equipment, thereby fully supporting the practical internship and training needs of students. Furniture in the patient waiting areas features soft, soothing color palettes and prioritizes comfort and convenience, reflecting the hospital’s humanistic service philosophy. Finally, the administrative offices are furnished with a minimalist, organized aesthetic designed to facilitate efficient and productive administrative operations. Concurrently, we innovatively employed digital precision surveying technology—tailored to the specific spatial layout of the hospital’s new facility—to ensure that the custom furniture perfectly fits the dimensions of every area. We optimized our production processes to facilitate efficient, large-scale delivery, while incorporating additional safety features such as fully rounded and polished edges on all furniture corners, as well as integrated cable management designs, to effectively mitigate potential safety hazards. Furthermore, we provided a comprehensive, one-stop service encompassing design, manufacturing, installation, and post-installation maintenance, thereby aligning seamlessly with the hospital’s dual requirements for both clinical medical care and educational training throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Following the successful implementation of the project, the custom furniture has integrated flawlessly into every hospital setting. It not only adheres to rigorous standards for infection control and prevention but also precisely meets the dual demands of clinical practice and educational instruction. By balancing practical functionality with a humanistic warmth, the furniture effectively enhances the operational efficiency of medical staff and the quality of educational training, while simultaneously optimizing the patient experience. This initiative has garnered high acclaim from the logistics and procurement team at Yixing Fourth People’s Hospital, the medical and nursing staff, and the interns and faculty from Jiangnan University.
