Case Description
Rooted in the high-end business context of a “Super Grade-A” office tower, we provided a comprehensive, bespoke design solution for the executive headquarters floors of the Shenzhen Hongrongyuan Qianhai Financial Center (Grand Parkway Plaza). This project encompassed cloud-level conference rooms, the CEO’s private office, smart workspace zones, and an executive art lounge.
Situated in the core district of Qianhai, the project boasts a breathtaking, panoramic 270-degree ocean view. The client’s primary challenge lay in the unique nature of super-high-rise architecture: the floor-to-ceiling window design meant that indoor light intensity and thermal radiation fluctuated drastically with the changing angle of the sun. This posed an extreme challenge to the physical stability of the extensive solid-wood office furniture featured in the executive areas. Furthermore, as a pinnacle of luxury workspace design, the owner demanded furniture that possessed an extreme sense of visual lightness—ensuring an unobstructed, “transparent” view of the ocean—while simultaneously solving the complex problem of how to seamlessly conceal the vast array of cabling and terminals for smart office equipment within a minimalist aesthetic, thereby avoiding any visual clutter.
To address these challenges, we implemented a design strategy centered on “transparent structural mechanics” and “environmental adaptive engineering.” For the CEO’s office and the cloud-level conference rooms, we utilized aerospace-grade carbon fiber internal frameworks; this approach ensured the absolute stability of the extra-long cantilevered tabletops while allowing us to reduce the thickness of the side panels to their visual minimum—thereby maximizing the visual prominence of the ocean vistas beyond the windows. To counter the harsh effects of intense UV radiation and temperature fluctuations, the wood veneers were treated with a nano-scale thermal barrier coating capable of reflecting over 70% of infrared thermal energy, effectively preventing the solid wood from suffering localized cracking or discoloration caused by prolonged sun exposure. Regarding cable management, we employed integrated laser-forming technology to construct a “multi-dimensional low-voltage matrix” within the hollow interiors of the desk legs, achieving a completely invisible connection from the desktop terminals down to the floor-level power modules.
The owner of the Hongrongyuan Qianhai Financial Center offered the following evaluation: “This bespoke solution achieves a perfect equilibrium between ‘artistic expression’ and ‘functional capability.’ The furniture appears to float effortlessly above the ocean panorama like a work of art, yet it is underpinned by a robust foundation of advanced technology. Notably, even after enduring a full summer cycle of intense sunlight, the furniture’s finishes have retained their original texture and pristine flatness. We believe that what was delivered to us is not merely a set of office tools, but rather a spatial asset—one that possesses top-tier environmental resilience and is truly commensurate with the landmark status of our building—successfully defining a new standard for ‘cloud-level’ office environments within the Greater Bay Area.”
