Situated on the banks of the Nile in Cairo, the Fairmont Nile City Hotel stands as a luxurious hub within this historic capital, distinguished by interiors that seamlessly blend Art Deco flair with Egyptian grandeur. For this project, our factory undertook the deep customization and delivery of all loose furniture—encompassing pieces for the lobby executive lounge, signature restaurants, pre-function banquet areas, and premium suite lounges. The core challenge of this project lay in the “heavy-industry execution of a cross-cultural aesthetic”: the designers called for extensive use of high-saturation velvet fabrics, intricate openwork metal backrests, and large-scale stone bases. This “heavily decorative” style presented significant difficulties regarding cleaning and posed a high risk of accelerated fabric aging within Cairo’s arid, dust-laden climate. Furthermore, a major concern for the owner during the procurement phase was how to ensure the furniture—while retaining its opulent visual mass—would simultaneously offer exceptional flexibility and ease of mobility to accommodate the high-frequency business activities typical of a Nile-side venue.

To perfectly resolve this dual conflict of structural integrity versus maintenance practicality, our factory introduced a technical solution centered on “lightweight framing and dust-repellent protection” during the design engineering phase. Specifically for the velvet sofas and custom armchairs—pieces possessing a commanding visual presence—we developed an internal honeycomb weight-reduction structure. This was paired with discreet, high-load-bearing, silent casters concealed beneath the base, enabling even large-scale modular sofas to be effortlessly rearranged by a single person, thereby vastly improving the efficiency of scene transitions within the pre-function banquet areas. In terms of material application, we employed a unique “anti-static fiber protective layer.” This proprietary process creates a micron-level protective film on the fabric surface, effectively blocking the infiltration of fine dust particles and ensuring that the deep purple and midnight blue fabrics retain their rich, vibrant hues over time, even under the diffused sunlight of the Nile. For the openwork metal screens and decorative hardware, we selected a vacuum plating process to guarantee that—even in an extremely arid environment—the finishes would never peel or rust, thereby permanently preserving the magnificent, regal texture of Egypt.
