As a renowned five-star seaside resort in Southeast Asia, the JW Marriott Hotel Batam faced numerous critical challenges during its pre-opening phase. These included the susceptibility of materials to damage in the island’s high-humidity, salt-laden environment; the stringent standards mandated by a global luxury hotel brand; the complexities of a cross-ocean project delivery chain; and the inability of standard off-the-shelf furniture to meet the specific spatial dimensions and moisture-resistance requirements of the property. Consequently, all fixed cabinetry and movable furniture—spanning the entirety of the guest rooms and suites, executive lounges, ocean-view buffet restaurant, and public leisure areas—were exclusively designed, custom-manufactured, and installed on-site by our own vertically integrated furniture factory.

Situated in a tropical coastal zone, the combination of saline sea breezes and persistently high humidity poses a significant risk of furniture swelling due to moisture absorption and paint finishes aging or peeling. Furthermore, as a Marriott International five-star property, the hotel imposes exceptionally rigorous specifications regarding furniture materials, craftsmanship details, environmental safety ratings, and spatial aesthetic consistency. Relying on fragmented external suppliers would have made it difficult to simultaneously guarantee quality, delivery timelines, and after-sales service; moreover, a multi-layered supply chain involving intermediaries would have resulted in inflated costs, dimensional discrepancies, and difficulties in mitigating transit-related damage during overseas shipping.

Leveraging the comprehensive manufacturing capabilities of our own large-scale production facility, we developed a targeted, bespoke solution for the project. Our factory independently developed specialized moisture-resistant core materials tailored for island environments, employing multi-layer waterproofing edge-banding techniques and salt-mist-resistant paint finishes. We maintained complete control over the entire production process—from raw material sourcing and structural framing to surface finishing and coating. Harmonizing with the hotel’s “Eastern Light Luxury Zen” design aesthetic, we custom-engineered and fabricated non-standard items—including guest room headboards, storage side cabinets, lounge sofas, dining furniture, and modular cabinetry—strictly adhering to the brand’s furniture specifications while optimizing ergonomic structures and spatial proportions. Our factory independently orchestrated the entire production schedule, designed modular assembly structures, implemented robust packaging protocols for overseas transit, and executed a seamless, one-stop on-site installation process—thereby eliminating all intermediaries and ensuring complete control over quality, timelines, and costs. Upon the project’s completion, the full suite of custom-manufactured furniture seamlessly integrated with the ambiance of every space—including guest rooms, executive areas, and the ocean-view dining zone. Boasting exceptional moisture resistance and weather durability, the furnishings effortlessly withstand the unique climatic conditions of the island environment; even under conditions of heavy, high-frequency use, they remain steadfast and durable. The texture of the woodwork and the intricate craftsmanship faithfully replicate the original design specifications, fully meeting Marriott Hotels’ rigorous five-star operational standards.
