Case description
The JW Marriott Da Nang, Vietnam, stands as a premier luxury destination that seamlessly blends French colonial charm with the relaxed allure of a tropical seaside resort. Our factory served as the exclusive supplier for the complete suite of custom-made furniture found throughout the hotel—spanning guest rooms, ocean-view suites, restaurants, leisure areas, and bathrooms.
The core challenge of this project lay in how to utilize furniture to interpret the hotel’s dual identity: simultaneously recreating the elegance and gravitas of the French colonial era while harmonizing with the relaxed comfort of a tropical seaside retreat—thereby avoiding any stylistic dissonance between heavy classical aesthetics and the airy resort atmosphere. Furthermore, Da Nang’s year-round high temperatures, high humidity, and heavy salt-laden air imposed rigorous demands on the moisture resistance and anti-corrosion properties of the wooden furniture. Additionally, the guest rooms’ expansive floor-to-ceiling windows necessitated furniture designs that were low-profile and visually open, ensuring they would not obstruct the ocean views while maintaining structural stability.
To address these specific challenges, we developed a bespoke solution tailored to the project. The furniture features a foundation of dark brown solid wood, faithfully reproducing the classic lines and intricate carvings characteristic of the colonial era; concurrently, it employs a lightweight structural design to reduce overall visual bulk, allowing the pieces to effortlessly integrate into the spacious, sunlit seaside guest rooms without competing for attention with the ocean vistas outside. To withstand the local environment—characterized by high humidity and salt spray—all solid wood components underwent deep carbonization and anti-corrosion treatments. Surfaces were coated with specialized weather-resistant lacquer, and all hardware fittings received rust-proof treatments, thereby eliminating the root causes of mold, decay, and structural deformation. We also custom-crafted sofas and dining chairs for the restaurants and public areas that strike a perfect balance between classical elegance and modern comfort—echoing the hotel’s overarching aesthetic while meeting the durability requirements of high-traffic usage.
Upon the project’s completion, the furniture proved to be in perfect harmony with the hotel’s overall tone, successfully preserving the elegant charm of the French colonial style without sacrificing the relaxed ambiance of a seaside resort. Since commencing operations, the furniture has maintained its structural integrity and aesthetic quality—remaining free from issues such as mold, deformation, or fading—despite the high-temperature and high-humidity environment, thereby significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs. The hotel management praised this collection of custom furniture, noting that it not only perfectly adapted to the spatial and climatic conditions but also became a pivotal element in defining the hotel’s stylistic identity—truly achieving a harmonious balance between aesthetics, durability, and a sense of place. As a specialist in bespoke furniture for ultra-luxury resort hotels, we excel at drawing design inspiration from architectural forms and local cultural contexts. Simultaneously, we employ specialized craftsmanship to address the unique weather-resistance challenges of tropical coastal environments, creating custom furniture that seamlessly blends classical elegance, resort-style ambiance, and enduring durability.
