As experts in luxury hotel furniture customization, we understand that Raffles Jakarta is not just a building, but a tribute to the soul of art. In this project, all event furniture, including the high-ceilinged lobby bar, banquet hall, executive lounge, and art-themed suites, was custom-made and delivered by our factory.

The most challenging aspect of this project was the physical conflict between “color expression and ultra-large-scale structure.” The designers required the furniture to be an extension of art, utilizing a large amount of custom fabrics with extremely rich and contrasting colors and special lacquer finishes. The client’s biggest concern was that Jakarta’s tropical climate and extreme humidity could easily cause the solid wood inner frames of large furniture to absorb moisture and expand slightly, potentially tearing the delicate artistic upholstery or causing visible “orange peel” textures on the lacquer. Furthermore, the extremely high-backed, irregularly shaped sofas in the lobby bar were prone to instability or structural tilting over time if traditional techniques were used.

To address Raffles’ high tolerance for artistic errors, our factory implemented an “art-level structural stabilization and color-locking process.” For the giant sofas and art coffee tables with their undulating curves, we abandoned the traditional wooden main frame and instead adopted an integrated cold-bent carbon steel inner liner technology. Through 3D modeling, we precisely calculated the center of gravity to ensure that the ultra-high back furniture will never deform even under extreme stress. For the surface treatment, we applied a “constant temperature and dehumidification vacuum wrapping process,” bonding the art fabric to the frame at the molecular level in a dust-free laboratory environment, and added a moisture-proof balancing layer to completely block the impact of tropical humidity on the furniture’s inner liner. This logic of hiding a “heavy industrial structure” beneath a “lightweight artistic shell” is the core strength of our factory in undertaking projects for top-tier luxury landmarks.
