Case description

For this project—the Salted Pig gastropub in California, USA—all restaurant furnishings throughout the entire venue, including solid wood dining tables, casual dining chairs, bar stools, upholstered wall-mounted banquettes, and casual side tables, were fully custom-manufactured and supplied by our factory.

The project involves a casual dining space situated within an urban renewal development, encompassing multiple functional zones such as open seating areas, a long central bar, and wall-side banquettes. The client faced significant implementation challenges during the initial planning stages: standard mass-produced furniture available on the market failed to address the proportional requirements dictated by the space’s soaring ceiling heights and unique window configurations; furthermore, the venue’s bold, high-contrast color palette made it difficult for conventional furniture color schemes to integrate seamlessly into the overall atmosphere. Given the gastropub’s high-frequency operations involving food and beverage service, there was a high risk of fabric staining and tabletop scratching or abrasion; standard furniture lacked the structural stability and resistance to moisture and stains required to meet the demands of long-term commercial operation. Additionally, as a cross-border renovation project, it presented specific logistical hurdles—such as difficulties in controlling dimensional tolerances, ensuring precise on-site assembly and fit, and coordinating stylistic consistency across the entire venue—which threatened to prevent the full realization of the designer’s vision for a rich, relaxed “desert aesthetic.”

To address this array of implementation challenges, we devised a comprehensive, integrated custom procurement solution centered on the project’s native color palette and structural core. We conducted precise on-site surveys of ceiling heights, window placements, and wall boundaries to execute bespoke dimensional adjustments for every piece of furniture. We standardized the material textures and color schemes across the entire venue, carefully selecting durable solid wood substrates and water-resistant, stain-repellent upholstery fabrics. We subjected the furniture to rigorous specialized testing—covering heat resistance, stain penetration resistance, and structural stability against vibration—and optimized the ergonomic comfort of the bar stools and banquette backrests. We managed the entire end-to-end process—from raw material sourcing and custom manufacturing to cross-border logistics and precise on-site installation—ensuring that the furniture blended seamlessly with the venue’s interior hardscape and ceiling color schemes.

Upon the completion of the furniture installation, the venue’s overall atmosphere—characterized by a relaxed, retro vibe—was fully realized. The custom-designed furniture fits perfectly within every spatial configuration of the venue, facilitating a fluid and logical circulation layout. The durable, protective finishes are fully capable of meeting the demands of the venue’s high-frequency, all-day operations, while remaining easy to clean and maintain; consequently, the furniture retains its aesthetic quality and structural stability even after prolonged use. The client highly commended our end-to-end customized procurement service, noting that we precisely realized the core aesthetic vision of the design scheme—successfully balancing the desired spatial atmosphere with the practical functional requirements of a commercial dining establishment.
