Case Description
Our factory provided a comprehensive, bespoke furniture solution for the Shanghai Poly Pukai Financial Center’s 2,000-square-meter headquarters office space. This project encompassed the CEO’s private office, a “cloud-view” conference room, an open-plan digital workspace, and a high-end artistic reception hall. Our key products included artistically curved executive desks, seamless marble conference tables, ergonomic modular workstations, and custom-designed artistic upholstered seating arrangements. By deeply integrating LSD founder Ge Yaxi’s signature “Modern Oriental” aesthetic with the hierarchical power dynamics inherent in top-tier financial business, we successfully balanced artistic expression with high-efficiency functionality within a space defined by a truly international vision.
The core challenge underlying this project lay in addressing two critical issues: the dynamic stability of furniture within the unique wind-induced vibration environment of a super-tall skyscraper, and the financial industry’s dual demand for extreme privacy and a strong sense of ceremonial gravitas. The client’s specific pain points were as follows: situated in the core of the Lujiazui financial district, the super-tall building is subject to minute swaying at high altitudes; this movement can cause large-span furniture pieces to generate subtle physical noises or exhibit visible wobbling—a fatal flaw for a financial office environment that demands absolute tranquility. Furthermore, financial giants require exceptionally high levels of acoustic isolation for “confidential” negotiations; however, the designers wished to avoid using heavy, solid physical partitions. Consequently, the client was concerned that if the furniture layout failed to establish a sense of psychological security and boundary definition within an open, visually transparent space, it would undermine the trust and confidence of their high-profile clientele.
To address these challenges, our factory implemented a solution involving furniture structures adapted to the building’s damping characteristics, alongside the development of “acoustically stealthy” soft materials. Regarding high-altitude stability, we developed furniture bases embedded with aerospace-grade hydraulic damping balancers capable of effectively neutralizing the structural stress induced by the building’s micro-vibrations. These bases successfully passed high-sensitivity structural resonance frequency tests, ensuring that the desk surfaces remain rock-steady under any conditions. To ensure privacy protection, we introduced a directional sound-guiding upholstery technology; by embedding amorphous sound-absorbing polymers into the enclosed surfaces of the furniture, we created localized, directional acoustic fields around the artistic sofa groupings in the open areas. This design effectively reduced the outward diffusion of conversational sound and successfully passed multi-band human voice interference cancellation simulations. Regarding materials, we employed a seamless composite technique combining extremely rare translucent stone with a hand-brushed metal finish. This approach imbues the furniture surfaces with an artistic texture that appears to flow and shift under the interplay of natural light and shadow.
The project outcome demonstrates that the custom furniture successfully serves as a visual anchor within the space, defining the intersection of commercial sophistication and artistic sensibility. The furniture’s restrained lines engage in a powerful dialogue with the financial district skyline visible through the windows. As the client remarked, the manufacturer—through in-depth research into material physics and a precise anticipation of the operational logic required for Grade A+ office environments—delivered a furniture system imbued with an “architectural soul.” This system not only resolved the unique structural stability challenges inherent to super-high-rise offices but, through craftsmanship of the utmost precision, also cultivated a professional environment within this financial hub that is as serene and distinguished as an art gallery. The primary spaces encompass a “cloud-level” executive zone with panoramic views, multi-dimensional interactive workstations, a minimalist artistic reception gallery, and a digital financial decision-making hall.
