Case Description

Hyundai Motor’s corporate headquarters is located in Seoul, South Korea.

Our factory provided Hyundai Motor Headquarters with a comprehensive, custom office furniture solution encompassing digital collaboration R&D centers, streamlined open-plan workspaces, executive-level decision-making conference rooms, and multifunctional employee wellness hubs. Our key product offerings included industrial-grade integrated workstations, high-precision metal-frame conference tables, acoustic felt privacy pods, and customized digital interactive workstations. By deeply integrating Hyundai Motor’s automotive engineering aesthetics with the philosophy of future-oriented mobile workspaces, we successfully achieved a balance between precision craftsmanship and dynamic collaboration within a space defined by its cutting-edge technological ambiance.

A primary challenge inherent to this project lay in the automotive R&D sector’s demand for extremely frequent cross-departmental reviews, coupled with the stringent structural requirements—specifically regarding desktop load-bearing stability—imposed by the use of massive hardware equipment. The client’s pain points centered on the inability of traditional office workstations to support heavy automotive clay models or high-performance graphics workstations; furthermore, departments frequently needed to switch from independent development modes to collective review modes within a matter of minutes, resulting in excessive wear and tear on furniture due to constant relocation. Concurrently, the R&D center was plagued by significant internal electronic and electromagnetic signal interference; the client therefore urgently required a furniture system equipped with inherent electromagnetic shielding capabilities to safeguard the security of core data transmission, while also addressing the critical challenge of mitigating fatigue among large teams engaged in prolonged, high-intensity R&D activities.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a structural framework utilizing aerospace-grade titanium-aluminum alloys, paired with an integrated “far-field” interference suppression technology solution. To meet the high load-bearing requirements, we developed a triangular truss-embedded leg system that boosts structural support strength threefold; furthermore, by applying the same precision casting processes utilized in Hyundai Motor’s own vehicle manufacturing, our furniture successfully passed pressure tests simulating a static load three times the standard capacity—demonstrating zero structural deformation. Regarding interference protection, we developed graphene-coated conductive tabletops for critical workstations, effectively channeling stray electromagnetic waves from the desktop into the grounding system; this solution successfully passed specialized Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) shielding effectiveness tests. Finally, to facilitate dynamic collaboration, we introduced a system combining silent-operation omnidirectional casters with pneumatic lift-and-cushioning technology, endowing heavy-duty workstation islands with a sense of effortless lightness that allows for easy, single-person repositioning. Additionally, we customized a progressive-support soft-upholstery system—engineered based on automotive seating ergonomics—to significantly optimize the long-duration seating experience for R&D personnel. The project results demonstrate that the custom-designed furniture has successfully transformed the space into an industrial infrastructure that fosters efficient innovation; its sharp metal lines and brand-specific color palette perfectly echo Hyundai Motor’s global corporate identity.

The client commended the manufacturer for—through the cross-disciplinary application of automotive manufacturing principles—delivering an office system characterized by exceptional stability and digital adaptability. This system not only resolved complex challenges regarding structural load-bearing capacity and signal interference within the R&D environment but also, through meticulous engineering details, catalyzed the innovative energy of a multi-generational workforce. The primary spaces encompass a digital collaborative R&D corridor, a high-load technical review zone, private acoustically controlled workstations, and a brand culture interaction center.
