Case Description
Our factory supplied all the office furniture for Sapmer’s new headquarters in Mauritius—including the open-plan workspaces, conference center, executive offices, and collaborative lounge areas.
As a French enterprise with over seventy years of deep-sea fishing expertise, Sapmer required its new headquarters to deeply integrate the philosophy of sustainable fishing and its maritime heritage with the unique island ecology of Mauritius. Simultaneously, the space needed to meet the diverse requirements of efficient cross-border team collaboration, food safety management, and global brand image projection. Traditional office furniture solutions proved inadequate for this challenge; they struggled to balance eco-traceability and the expression of maritime themes with the functional adaptability required for a multinational workplace. Furthermore, they failed to meet the rigorous standards of international certifications such as MSC and IFS, exhibiting significant shortcomings in terms of material sustainability, spatial flexibility, and brand aesthetic consistency.
Leveraging our factory’s robust capabilities in custom manufacturing, we deeply distilled key maritime elements—such as deep-sea blues and wave-like textures—into our designs. We selected eco-friendly materials, including recycled ocean plastics and FSC-certified solid wood. All furniture pieces successfully passed MSC sustainable material certification, IFS food-contact safety testing, and durability/pressure resistance tests. For the open-plan areas, we created modular, reconfigurable furniture systems to facilitate flexible collaboration among the multinational team. The conference center was equipped with integrated meeting systems featuring smart screen-sharing and noise-reduction capabilities. The executive zone featured custom-designed office suites that balanced privacy with maritime aesthetics, while the lounge areas incorporated natural island elements to create relaxing, collaborative spaces. We provided a comprehensive, end-to-end service—from design and production through to installation—ensuring that the furniture aligned perfectly with the headquarters’ interior landscape and brand philosophy.
Upon project completion, the overall space exuded a simple yet grand aesthetic, imbued with a rich maritime atmosphere. The furniture not only perfectly conveyed Sapmer’s core brand ethos of sustainable fishing but also precisely met the functional demands of a multinational workplace and rigorous food safety management. Eco-friendly, safe, flexible, and highly distinctive, the furniture effectively enhanced team collaboration efficiency and strengthened the brand’s visual presence. The project received high acclaim from both Sapmer’s global headquarters and its Mauritius operations team, establishing itself as a benchmark case study for custom office furniture solutions within the multinational food industry.
