Case description

Nestled between mountains and sea, the InterContinental Vietnam blends French colonial charm with indigenous Vietnamese culture to create a truly unique atmosphere of tropical luxury. Our factory served as the exclusive supplier for all custom-made furniture throughout the property—including guest rooms, ocean-view villas, open-air restaurants, terrace lounges, and public spaces.
The core challenge of this project lay in harmonizing a multitude of aesthetic sensibilities through furniture design: we needed to faithfully recreate the elegant lines of the French colonial era while seamlessly integrating traditional Vietnamese hand-weaving techniques and natural materials—all without allowing the furniture’s presence to feel heavy or to clash with the airy, relaxed vibe of a tropical resort. Furthermore, Da Nang’s climate—characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and heavy salt spray—imposed rigorous demands on the furniture’s moisture resistance and anti-corrosion properties. The hotel’s abundance of open-plan spaces and seaside terraces also required furniture that balanced weather resistance with visual transparency, ensuring it would not obstruct the breathtaking mountain and ocean vistas.
To address these specific challenges, we developed a bespoke solution tailored to the project’s needs. The furniture features a foundation of dark solid wood, faithfully replicating classic French colonial silhouettes while incorporating elements such as rattan weaving, natural wood textures, and local textile color palettes, thereby infusing these vintage lines with a sense of natural ease and relaxation. To ensure suitability for the tropical coastal environment, all solid wood components underwent deep carbonization and anti-corrosion treatments; surfaces were finished with specialized weather-resistant coatings, and all metal hardware received rust-proofing treatments—effectively eliminating the risks of mold, decay, and deformation at the source. For the guest rooms, we custom-designed low-profile, visually open bed frames and lounge furniture to maximize the integration of the outdoor scenery into the interior space. For the restaurants and terraces, we utilized lightweight structural designs paired with weather-resistant fabrics, ensuring the furniture not only complemented the hotel’s overarching aesthetic but also met the durability requirements for high-frequency usage.
Upon the project’s completion, the furniture proved to be in perfect harmony with the hotel’s overall tone; French elegance and local flair blended seamlessly, creating a pervasive sense of relaxed resort living in every space—from the guest rooms to the open-air dining areas. Since the hotel commenced operations, the furniture has maintained its structural integrity and aesthetic quality—remaining free from issues such as mold, deformation, or fading—despite the high-temperature, high-humidity environment, thereby significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs. According to the hotel management, this collection of bespoke furniture not only perfectly complements the space and climate but also serves as a pivotal element in expressing the hotel’s distinctive style—truly achieving a harmonious balance between aesthetics, durability, and a sense of place.
