Case description

Our factory provided a comprehensive, custom furniture solution for Avenue Restaurant, covering its tiered semi-open seating zones, central circular booth island, high-ceilinged bar area, and private window-side dining spots. Our key products included solid wood tables featuring geometric joinery, high-resilience leather upholstery, seamlessly molded metal bar stools, and bespoke suspended storage units. By deeply integrating the refined details of vintage architecture with the volumetric aesthetics of contemporary minimalism, we successfully established a sense of elegant spatial sequencing and an intimate dining atmosphere within a venue characterized by its exceptional vertical height.

The core challenge inherent in this project’s context lay in addressing the spatial scale imbalances—and the resulting degradation of the social dining experience—caused by the building’s immense depth and acoustic reflectivity. The client’s primary pain points were twofold: while the space boasted exceptionally high ceilings and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows—offering visual openness—it inadvertently fostered a sense of psychological detachment among guests, leaving them feeling adrift in a vast, empty void. Furthermore, sound ricocheted repeatedly off the hard architectural surfaces, rendering normal table conversation noisy and indistinct. Additionally, a significant technical hurdle for the owner—critical to maximizing commercial floor efficiency—was determining how to arrange furniture across a vast, multi-tiered stepped structure while ensuring that every seat offered an unobstructed view without impeding circulation pathways.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a system of acoustically enclosing furniture and a spatial modular alignment strategy. Regarding the acoustic feedback issue, we developed upholstered backrests featuring cavity-resonance sound absorption capabilities; by embedding porous sound-absorbing materials within the custom booths, we transformed the furniture itself into a series of micro-acoustic barriers, thereby significantly reducing reverberation times within the social dining zones. In terms of spatial scale management, we employed a proportional architectural modeling technique to pre-visualize the layout; this allowed us to custom-fabricate base supports of varying heights for each tiered seating unit, utilizing micron-level physical compensation of the furniture’s center of gravity to ensure absolute stability on the sloping and stepped surfaces. Finally, for the high-traffic bar area, we applied a vacuum-nitrogen-enhanced spray-coating process to endow the metal frames with exceptional resistance to oxidation and fingerprints; we also subjected the structures to rigorous fatigue testing—simulating 50,000 cycles of heavy gravitational load—to guarantee that their minimalist aesthetic was underpinned by uncompromising load-bearing stability. The project results demonstrate that the custom furniture—through the precise application of geometric scaling—successfully segments the expansive space into multiple “micro-social islands” that evoke a profound sense of security. Under the lighting, the furniture’s warm gray tones and caramel-colored leather upholstery exude an exceptionally sophisticated visual texture. As noted by the client, the manufacturer—leveraging interdisciplinary research into acoustics and structural engineering—delivered a bespoke system capable of effortlessly mastering the complexities of the architectural scale; this system not only dispels the sense of emptiness within the space but also transforms every individual seat into a functional node possessing distinct artistic appeal. The primary spatial layout encompasses an iconic tiered dining area, a central curvilinear social zone, a high-counter interactive bar area, and intimate window-side seating.
