Case description

For this project—the Cantera Parioli restaurant in Rome, Italy—all dining furniture throughout the entire space was custom-manufactured and supplied exclusively by our factory.

Situated in an upscale urban district, the project aimed to create a refined, “light luxury” dining environment. The interior hardscape design is characterized primarily by natural stone textures and soft architectural lines. The client’s primary challenge during implementation was that standard off-the-shelf furniture available on the market often features overly ornate designs that fail to align with the space’s minimalist, restrained aesthetic. Furthermore, the interplay of stone walls and soft lighting tended to accentuate any visible seams or workmanship flaws in the furniture. Given that the venue operates as both a casual daytime eatery and a formal evening dining establishment—resulting in significant fluctuations in customer traffic density throughout the day—ordinary furniture could not adequately balance a visually lightweight appearance with the structural load-bearing demands of commercial use. Compounding these issues were the inherent difficulties associated with overseas projects: controlling material color consistency, avoiding stylistic fragmentation in soft furnishings, and mitigating measurement discrepancies during on-site installation—all of which made it challenging to maintain a unified, serene, and high-end atmosphere throughout the space.

To address these multifaceted issues, we developed a bespoke, integrated customization plan tailored to the space’s minimalist aesthetic. We conducted on-site surveys to analyze spatial proportions and subsequently optimized the furniture’s structural design to ensure a visually lightweight profile. We streamlined superfluous design elements to harmonize with the overall design ethos, selecting low-saturation, warm-toned solid wood materials. These materials underwent specialized surface treatments to ensure resistance against scratches, abrasion, and common dining stains (such as water and oil), followed by rigorous structural load-bearing stability testing. We standardized the lines, heights, and material styles of all furniture throughout the venue, establishing a seamless workflow that spanned raw material sourcing, precise dimension calibration, cross-border logistics, and final on-site placement and fine-tuning. This comprehensive approach ensured that the texture and character of the furniture blended naturally and harmoniously with the stone hardscape and the interior lighting environment.

Upon the completion of the furniture installation, the space achieved a fully unified, minimalist, and high-end atmosphere. The furniture’s robust structure proved perfectly suited for the venue’s all-day operational demands, exhibiting low daily wear and tear while remaining easy to clean and maintain. Furthermore, the overall soft furnishing scheme was executed without any stylistic fragmentation or dimensional incongruities. The client expressed immense satisfaction with our custom procurement services, acknowledging that we had precisely captured the core essence of the space’s minimalist design. They recognized our success in striking an optimal balance between aesthetic simplicity and commercial durability, effectively resolving the complex logistical and coordination challenges typically associated with implementing soft furnishings in overseas projects, and successfully bringing the entire interior design vision to life.
