Case Description

Our factory supplied all the furniture for the primary office and ancillary activity areas of the China-Denmark Friendship Children’s Care Center. This scope covered the office reception area, the inclusive education zone (integrating general and special needs education), the children’s activity areas, the collaborative workspace for Chinese and international staff, and the archival storage area.

As a demonstration site for child-friendly communities and a base for inclusive education—jointly established by China and Denmark—the project faced a critical challenge: the office furniture needed to simultaneously reflect the aesthetic of China-Denmark cultural fusion, embody child-friendly attributes, and meet the specific requirements of inclusive education. It had to align with the minimalist, natural aesthetics shared by both nations while ensuring safety for children’s activities and for children with special needs. Furthermore, it needed to accommodate the diverse functional demands of collaborative work among international staff, educational activities, and the standardized storage of records. Traditional office furniture typically lacks child-friendly design features—often utilizing non-eco-friendly materials and featuring sharp, unrounded edges—and struggles to integrate the cultural elements of both China and Denmark, rendering it unsuitable for the unique context of inclusive education. Similarly, standard custom furniture often fails to strike the necessary balance between safety, functionality, and cultural resonance, thereby falling short of the project’s positioning as a cross-cultural model for child care and education.

Leveraging our factory’s core capabilities in custom manufacturing, we deeply integrated the minimalist and natural design philosophies of both China and Denmark. We selected food-grade, eco-friendly panel materials and employed a comprehensive edge-rounding and polishing process to eliminate any sharp corners. All furniture underwent rigorous testing to ensure child-safety standards, eco-friendliness, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and load-bearing capacity. For the inclusive education zone, we custom-designed height-adjustable desks and chairs to accommodate the varying needs of children across different age groups, including those with special needs. The collaborative workspace features modular furniture systems that facilitate teamwork among the international staff while incorporating minimalist cultural elements from both nations, thereby balancing practical functionality with cultural expression. We provided a comprehensive, one-stop service encompassing design, production, and installation, maintaining an unwavering focus on child safety and spatial compatibility throughout the entire process.

Upon the project’s completion, the space emerged as a minimalist, warm, safe, and comfortable environment. The furniture successfully blends the cultural aesthetics of China and Denmark while precisely meeting the specific requirements for children’s activities and inclusive education—proving to be both safe, eco-friendly, and highly functional. It effectively facilitates collaborative work and educational activities for the international staff, creating a safe and welcoming environment for children’s learning and recreation. The project received high commendation from the Consulate General of Denmark in Shanghai, the Danish Technology and Entrepreneurship Center, and relevant departments within the Suzhou High-speed Railway New Town. These entities recognized that the furniture design perfectly aligns with the core positioning of “China-Denmark Friendship” and “Inclusive Education,” playing a pivotal role in establishing a high-quality, compassionate space dedicated to children’s care and education.
