Case description

Our factory provided a comprehensive, custom furniture solution for Cinnamon Restaurant, covering the central dining hall, the curved scenic booth area, the semi-open bar seating, and the window-side loose seating zones. Our key products included pink-hued leather sofas, velvet-upholstered dining chairs, brass-accented dining tables, and integrated custom benches. By juxtaposing soft, vintage-inspired pink tones with materials possessing strong geometric tension, we successfully balanced a dreamy, theatrical aesthetic with commercial operational efficiency within the surrealist space designed by Kingston Lafferty.

The core challenge inherent in this project lay in maintaining precise color accuracy within a surrealist aesthetic, while simultaneously softening the tactile experience within a high-saturation environment. The client’s specific pain points stemmed from the spatial design, which heavily utilized low-saturation pinks, mint greens, and high-gloss metallic finishes; this color palette imposed nearly draconian requirements on the color fidelity of the furniture fabrics, as even a slight chromatic shift would disrupt the narrative cohesion of the entire space. Furthermore, given the extensive use of hard materials—such as terrazzo, metal, and mirrors—within the interior, any lack of tactile softness or a sense of “envelopment” in the furniture would leave guests feeling psychologically detached and physically cold. Consequently, the owner urgently required a furniture system that could satisfy both the aesthetic demands of social media “check-ins” and the need for profound physical comfort.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a specialized fabric development process involving optical color calibration, alongside a multi-layered, pressure-relieving upholstery system. Regarding color accuracy, we developed a fabric-dyeing benchmarking technology based on the D65 standard illuminant; we subjected all custom velvet and leather fabrics to multiple spectrophotometric tests to ensure that, under varying conditions of artificial and natural light throughout the day, the furniture would consistently exhibit a soft, rosy glow with a cinematic quality. To optimize physical comfort, we introduced a three-layer, variable-density foam filling process. This technique allowed us to maintain the furniture’s crisp, sculptural contours while endowing the contact surfaces with an exceptional sense of enveloping comfort, thereby effectively counterbalancing the visual “hardness” of the surrounding space. Finally, for the edges of the brass dining tables, we applied a matte nano-coating with anti-oxidant properties; this solution preserved the luxurious luster of the genuine brass while effectively resolving the common issues associated with metal fixtures in public spaces—namely, susceptibility to fingerprints and oxidation-induced discoloration.

The project results demonstrate that the custom-made furniture serves as the most evocative artistic focal point within the space; its refined material textures create a highly expressive textural contrast against the marble flooring. The client remarked: “Through the meticulous refinement of color and tactile quality, the manufacturer not only delivered furnishings that faithfully reproduced the original design but also transformed the furniture into a sensory bridge connecting guests with the space. Furthermore, the durability and ease of maintenance of the furniture have been perfectly validated throughout a period of intensive, high-frequency operations.” The primary spatial layout encompasses a central dining core, a curved theater-style booth section, window-side seating offering scenic views, and a social bar area.
