Located in St. Petersburg, Russia, City Food is a dining complex designed to cater to high-frequency foot traffic and foster a lightweight, communal dining atmosphere. All restaurant furnishings throughout the entire venue—including solid wood dining tables, lightweight chairs, communal benches, fixed booth seating, and casual side tables—were fully custom-manufactured and supplied by our factory.

As an urban-scale public dining complex, the project features an open-plan layout with complex circulation patterns and extremely rapid customer turnover. The client faced distinct operational challenges: standard off-the-shelf furniture—typically fixed in size and bulky—could not accommodate the flexible arrangement of food stalls or the demands of high-volume foot traffic. Furthermore, furniture in communal dining settings is prone to bumps and wear; standard materials often lack sufficient impact resistance, leading to structural instability over time. Additionally, the space’s minimalist industrial aesthetic imposed strict requirements regarding the uniformity of furniture lines and modular compatibility. Finally, as a cross-border project, coordinating modular dimensions and maintaining consistent quality control across large batches presented significant logistical hurdles, making it difficult to meet the fast-paced operational demands of a bustling urban food hall.

To address these multifaceted challenges, we developed a comprehensive, integrated custom procurement solution centered on the core essence of urban communal dining. We conducted a thorough site survey of the open-plan layout to fine-tune furniture dimensions for optimal lightness and modularity. We incorporated flexible, interlocking structural designs to accommodate the venue’s ever-changing layout configurations. We selected high-hardness, wear-resistant metal frames paired with reinforced solid wood panels, subjecting them to rigorous specialized testing to ensure resistance against impact, scratches, and the heavy wear associated with high-traffic environments. We streamlined the furniture’s aesthetic lines to align seamlessly with the venue’s minimalist industrial theme, thereby unifying the modular specifications and stylistic system across the entire space. We also prioritized ergonomic design to ensure comfort for customers requiring quick seating and temporary dining options. Our end-to-end service encompassed everything from raw material sourcing and custom manufacturing to cross-border logistics and flexible on-site installation, ensuring the furniture integrated naturally with the venue’s concrete hardscape and open-plan architecture.
