Case description
For this project—the Dijon Restaurant in Almaty, Kazakhstan—all dining furniture throughout the entire venue was custom-designed and supplied exclusively by our factory.
The project centers on a “French Light Luxury” aesthetic that artfully contrasts softness with raw, industrial ruggedness. Featuring expansive textured pink walls, soaring concrete structures, and a low-ceilinged, mirror-clad second-floor area, the project presented a unique set of implementation challenges. Off-the-shelf furniture available on the market typically features monochromatic, rigid tones that fail to harmonize with the space’s bespoke color palette—a light-luxury scheme defined by a striking interplay of pink and blue. Furthermore, the limited ceiling height on the second floor meant that standard, bulky furniture would create a claustrophobic atmosphere; additionally, the mirrored walls would mercilessly amplify any imperfections in furniture edges or craftsmanship. High-end French dining establishments demand exacting standards for the refinement of upholstery and the texture of surface finishes—areas where ordinary fabrics often fall short due to their susceptibility to wrinkling and fading. Compounding these issues was the inherent difficulty in maintaining stylistic consistency across two distinct floor levels, as well as the complexities of cross-border projects—specifically, the challenges of precise color calibration and ensuring exact dimensional accuracy for low-ceilinged spaces—making it difficult to strike a balance between the space’s intended softness and the raw, elemental character of the architecture.
To address these multifaceted challenges, we devised a comprehensive, integrated custom-procurement solution centered on the core design principle of stylistic contrast. We conducted meticulous on-site surveys of ceiling heights and mirror boundaries to execute a “lightweighting” adjustment of furniture dimensions, thereby reducing visual bulk and alleviating the sense of confinement on the second floor. We precisely matched the furniture’s finishes and upholstery color schemes to the space’s unique palette, carefully selecting high-density, fade-resistant fabrics and robust metal frames. We implemented specialized process optimizations to ensure stain resistance, abrasion durability, and structural load-bearing longevity. Furthermore, we meticulously rounded and polished furniture edges to eliminate visual distortions caused by mirror reflections, thereby ensuring a consistent tone of refined elegance across both upper and lower levels. While maintaining this aesthetic integrity, we also prioritized ergonomic comfort—a hallmark of the French dining experience. We seamlessly integrated every stage of the process—from raw material sourcing and custom manufacturing to cross-border logistics and precise on-site installation—ensuring that the furniture harmonizes naturally with the colorful interior finishes, the raw concrete structures, and the mirrored surfaces. Upon the project’s completion, the intended atmosphere—a striking interplay between soft, light-luxury elegance and raw, industrial architecture—was fully realized. The spatial flow across both levels is now fluid and comfortable; the protective finishes are perfectly suited to the demands of high-end restaurant operations, facilitating easy daily cleaning and maintenance while ensuring that the furniture retains its aesthetic quality and color stability over the long term.
The client highly commended our customized procurement services, praising our precise command of spatial color palettes and the aesthetics of stylistic contrast. They noted that we adeptly resolved challenges such as ceiling height limitations, the mitigation of mirror surface imperfections, and the practical implementation of cross-border color schemes—successfully balancing artistic ambiance with commercial functionality—thereby bringing the entire soft furnishing project to a flawless completion.
