Case Description

Approaching the project from a futuristic perspective, we custom-designed a furniture system for the Mix Design office space that fosters a symbiosis between technology and art. This system encompasses esports-grade creative workstations, multi-dimensional interactive zones, and immersive digital art display areas.

As an agency dedicated to cutting-edge visual and digital design, Mix Design faced a core challenge: how to balance high-saturation lighting and shadows with the tactile quality of office furniture within a dimly lit space characterized by a distinct “cyberpunk” aesthetic. The client’s dilemma was that standard office furniture—when exposed to the high-contrast illumination of neon arrays and LED screens—often takes on a cheap, plastic appearance or generates excessive glare, severely compromising the designers’ visual judgment. Furthermore, the team held exacting standards regarding equipment heat dissipation, cable management complexity, and ergonomics to support prolonged digital creative sessions—requirements that conventional off-the-shelf products simply could not meet given their high-density hardware loads.

In response, we implemented a combination of low-reflectivity matte technology and intelligent vertical integration solutions. Specifically for the elongated digital workstations and collaborative esports stations featured in the imagery, we developed an ultra-matte, nano-textured “skin-feel” finish. By utilizing a surface microstructure with micron-level irregularities to diffuse ambient light, we effectively eliminated all screen glare interference. Structurally, the furniture incorporates independent internal airflow channels for heat dissipation and integrated cable management conduits, completely concealing the heat and cabling generated by the numerous workstation host units. For the social and display zones, we custom-crafted “liquid-effect” sofas with a metallic sheen, alongside illuminated interactive consoles. By utilizing translucent resin materials paired with embedded LED strips, we transformed the furniture itself into an integral element of the space’s narrative of light and shadow.
