Case description
For the OM NOM NOM Vegetarian Café project in Lviv, Ukraine, all restaurant furniture throughout the entire venue—including solid wood dining tables, casual dining chairs, bar stools, window-side counters, and side tables—was fully custom-manufactured and supplied by our factory.
The project features a multi-level, mixed-use vegetarian dining space that seamlessly integrates raw concrete finishes, natural indoor greenery, and a rugged industrial architectural structure. During the initial implementation phase, the client faced significant challenges: standard off-the-shelf furniture dimensions could not accommodate the space’s varying ceiling heights, irregular corners, or the specific circulation paths reserved for the natural indoor trees. Furthermore, the vegetarian dining context imposed strict requirements regarding furniture eco-friendliness and the tactile quality of natural materials; conventional mass-produced furniture failed to meet these environmental standards, and their generic wood grain and metal finishes did not align with the space’s rustic, natural design aesthetic. Additionally, the venue’s high-traffic daytime operations—focused on coffee and light meals—made the furniture susceptible to water rings and food stains; ordinary furniture, lacking adequate protective finishes, would be prone to moisture damage and deformation. Coordinating a unified furniture style across the venue’s two distinct levels proved difficult, as did managing a fragmented overseas supply chain to simultaneously control customization timelines, material quality, and on-site installation precision—all of which hindered the ability to fully realize the designer’s vision of a natural, relaxed spatial atmosphere.
To address these multifaceted challenges, we developed an integrated procurement solution centered on the project’s core design ethos. We conducted a comprehensive on-site survey of the entire space’s boundaries, precisely calibrating furniture dimensions to fit around the reserved tree locations and the staggered floor levels. We ensured stylistic consistency across the furniture for both the upper and lower levels, selecting food-grade eco-friendly solid wood and lightweight metal substrates. We applied specialized surface treatments to ensure resistance against moisture, water damage, and stain penetration, while simultaneously conducting rigorous testing for structural stability and environmental safety compliance. This approach allowed us to harmonize the furniture with the space’s natural textures while optimizing ergonomic comfort. We managed the entire process—from raw material sourcing and custom manufacturing to cross-border logistics and precise on-site assembly—ensuring that the furniture blended seamlessly with the raw concrete finishes and the indoor greenery.
Upon the completion of the furniture installation, the venue’s overall relaxed and natural vegetarian dining atmosphere was fully realized. The custom-made furniture perfectly fit every irregular structural feature of the space, ensuring a smooth and logical circulation layout. The eco-friendly, durable craftsmanship is fully tailored to the demands of the venue’s daily operations, facilitating easy cleaning and maintenance while significantly enhancing the long-term stability and longevity of the furniture. The client highly commended our end-to-end customization service, praising our ability to precisely align with the core aesthetics of the spatial design while simultaneously balancing eco-friendliness, functionality, and visual texture. Our integrated procurement service effectively mitigated various potential risks associated with the soft furnishing implementation of overseas projects, thereby successfully fulfilling all requirements for the store’s overall soft furnishing rollout.
