Case description
Drawing upon the natural context of this hillside luxury residence, we completed a comprehensive, fully customized interior integration project for Hanjing Jiurong Terrace in Shenzhen. The scope of the project encompassed bespoke furniture, lighting fixtures, mattresses, rugs, wall art, and decorative accessories.
Situated on the slopes of Nanshan, Hanjing Jiurong Terrace boasts exceptional forest coverage and high concentrations of negative oxygen ions; however, this idyllic setting also presents extremely rigorous environmental challenges for the interior spaces. The client’s primary pain point stemmed from the property’s location on a mountain flank: the interiors were constantly exposed to penetrating mountain humidity throughout the year, causing traditional imported ready-made furniture to be highly susceptible to structural mold growth and the peeling of leather surfaces. Furthermore, the villa’s interior features numerous irregular, angular architectural structures; the placement of standard furniture would inevitably create numerous unusable “dead zones”—visually awkward corners that resulted in inefficient space utilization and undermined the inherent geometric tension of the architecture itself.
In response, we implemented a dual strategy involving structural moisture barriers and geometric spatial reconfiguration. To address the issue of mountain humidity, we applied advanced polymer hydrophobic sealing technology to the concealed sub-structures of all custom furniture pieces. Additionally, we embedded intelligent air circulation modules into the bases of large cabinetry units to physically prevent mold proliferation at the structural level. To tackle the challenge of the irregularly shaped architectural spaces, we utilized 3D scanning and modeling techniques to design and fabricate a series of bespoke, non-standard geometric furniture pieces, ensuring their contours aligned with the angular walls with millimeter-level precision. For rugs and soft furnishings, we introduced a weaving technique that blends natural mineral dyes with highly breathable fibers; this approach ensures that while maintaining exceptional visual texture, the furniture and accessories possess superior breathability, thereby preventing the accumulation of moisture.
Feedback from the owners of Hanjing Jiurong Terrace highlights the success of this comprehensive solution: “This holistic design scheme not only precisely mitigated the intrusion of mountain humidity into our daily lives but also, through the geometric reconfiguration of the furniture, transformed what were once awkward corners into stunning artistic focal points that accentuate the architectural beauty of the home.” After residing in the home for several seasons, the owners report that every element—from the leather sofas to the wall art—has maintained its physical integrity and condition perfectly, showing absolutely no signs of moisture damage or deterioration. The owners concluded: “You delivered not merely a project of ultimate aesthetic cohesion, but—from the perspective of material science—a residential solution for hillside living that offers an unparalleled sense of security and stability.”
