As a benchmark for high-end coastal resorts, the Sheraton Phuket Great Bay Resort faced a unique set of construction challenges during its development phase. These included the high-humidity, salt-laden tropical island climate; Sheraton’s rigorous global brand standards for material selection; the difficulty of precisely recreating a “New Chinese-style” light-luxury resort aesthetic; the complex and irregular spatial structures of the sea-view guest rooms; the challenge of managing standardized customization across a large volume of diverse room types; and the logistical complexities associated with moisture-proofing and cross-border delivery for overseas projects. For the entire resort—encompassing full sea-view luxury guest rooms, indoor living and reception areas, bathroom zones, and light-luxury leisure corridors—all movable furniture and fixed custom cabinetry were independently developed, meticulously crafted, and delivered via a comprehensive, one-stop cross-border service by our own manufacturing facility.

Situated within the hot and humid island environment of Thailand, the project site is constantly exposed to corrosive sea breezes, significant diurnal temperature fluctuations, and cyclical humidity. These conditions make furniture panels highly susceptible to moisture absorption and deformation, while surface finishes are prone to oxidation and fading. Furthermore, the hotel’s design—which blends elegant Oriental lines with a light-luxury coastal resort aesthetic—demanded meticulous attention to furniture craftsmanship and soft furnishing color coordination. Given the varying dimensions of the numerous sea-view guest rooms, achieving both modular mass customization and precise spatial integration presented a significant challenge; a fragmented supply chain would have struggled to simultaneously address the need for island-specific weather-resistant craftsmanship, faithful brand style reproduction, and consistent quality control across all room types.

Our factory selected high-end commercial-grade substrates engineered for moisture and salt-spray resistance, employing a fully sealed, waterproof, and weather-resistant finishing process to withstand the corrosive effects of the island’s humidity.
