Case description

For this project—Spicy No Spicy Restaurant in Kiev, Ukraine—all dining furniture throughout the entire venue was custom-manufactured and supplied exclusively by our factory.

The project features a dining space themed around Southeast Asian spices. The venue presents unique structural challenges, characterized by a massive woven-bamboo ceiling installation, a multi-tiered spatial layout with varying floor levels, and an unconventional circulation flow. Consequently, standard mass-produced furniture—with its uniform specifications—proved incompatible with the site’s distinct elevation differences and irregular spatial geometry. Furthermore, the venue’s inherent warm-toned, natural-wood aesthetic demanded an exceptionally high degree of color and texture matching from the furniture; ordinary mass-produced items, often exhibiting noticeable color discrepancies and rigid lines, would have disrupted the space’s natural, exotic ambiance. Additionally, as the restaurant specializes in hot Southeast Asian cuisine—involving an abundance of sauces and broths—standard furniture surfaces would have been susceptible to stain penetration, corrosion, and wear. Moreover, the open-plan dining and kitchen areas imposed strict requirements regarding furniture visual transparency and lightweight structural design. Finally, managing the soft furnishings and stylistic coordination for a cross-border project presented significant logistical and aesthetic challenges, making it difficult to fully and faithfully realize the design team’s vision of a natural, rustic, and exotic spatial aesthetic.

To address these multifaceted challenges, we formulated a comprehensive, integrated custom-procurement solution centered on the core theme of indigenous Southeast Asian aesthetics. We conducted on-site surveys to map the space’s multi-tiered elevation differences, enabling us to execute precise, bespoke dimensional adjustments for every piece of furniture. We minimized the visual bulk and weight of the furniture to enhance the space’s sense of openness and transparency. We carefully selected warm-toned, natural solid wood as the primary material, applying specialized surface treatments to ensure a consistent, warm-hued texture. We implemented advanced surface protection measures to ensure resistance against oil stains, acidic sauces, moisture, and abrasion. Furthermore, we conducted rigorous structural load-bearing and stability tests to ensure the furniture remained secure and balanced across the venue’s varying floor levels. We unified the aesthetic tone of all furniture throughout the space, creating a simple yet rustic visual harmony, while simultaneously incorporating ergonomic considerations to facilitate seamless interaction between the dining and kitchen areas. We managed the entire process end-to-end—from raw material sourcing and custom manufacturing to cross-border logistics and precise on-site installation—ensuring the furniture integrated seamlessly with the woven bamboo ceiling and the textured interior finishes. Upon the project’s completion, the restaurant’s intended natural, exotic atmosphere was fully realized; the furniture perfectly complemented the venue’s multi-tiered spatial layout, facilitating a fluid and logical circulation flow.

The stain-resistant protective finishes proved fully adequate for the demands of daily restaurant operations, ensuring easy cleaning and maintenance, and guaranteeing that the furniture would retain its high-quality aesthetic and structural integrity over years of long-term use. The client highly commended our customized procurement services, praising our ability to precisely align with the aesthetic of the themed space. They noted that we successfully resolved complex challenges—including adapting to floor-level variations, managing material color consistency, and ensuring durability for a high-traffic dining environment—while effectively balancing an exotic ambiance with commercial functionality.
