Case description
Addressing the unique “estate” character of the Shenzhen Mission Hills Villa—deeply embedded within lush golf course greenery—we delivered a comprehensive turnkey solution. This project encompassed fully customized furniture, artistic lighting fixtures, advanced deep-sleep systems, hand-woven rugs, and a curated collection of global-standard artworks and decorative objects.
The property is secluded amidst dense golf course vegetation, boasting exceptional ecological scenery; however, its core challenge lay in “mitigating material oxidation and protecting against insects and pests within an extreme microclimate.” Due to the exceptionally dense vegetation in the Mission Hills area, the villa’s interiors are constantly immersed in a natural ecosystem characterized by high oxygen levels, high humidity, and the presence of numerous small insects. The dilemma facing the homeowner was significant: imported leather furniture oxidizes rapidly in such high-oxygen environments, quickly losing its elasticity and luster; furthermore, the intricate crevices within solid wood structures often serve as hiding spots for mountain insects, while traditional decorative rugs struggle to balance luxurious aesthetics with effective insect and mold resistance. Consequently, the homeowner urgently required a comprehensive soft-furnishing solution that would seamlessly integrate with the natural aesthetics while possessing robust biological resistance.
We implemented a specialized program focused on “biological balance protection” and “leather oxidation-resistance coating.” To address the issue of oxidation, we applied a combination of plant-based tannin pretreatment and vacuum-sealed anti-oxidation coating technologies to all leather furniture; this process effectively mitigates the embrittling effects that high-oxygen environments typically have on leather fibers. Regarding insect and pest protection, all custom cabinetry and furniture bases were embedded with ultrasonic physical insect-repellent modules, and we selected cedar wood—naturally known for its insect-repelling properties—for the internal structural cores. In terms of soft furnishings, we commissioned custom rugs woven from a blend of recycled nylon and insect-resistant silk threads, thereby preventing insect egg infestation at a molecular level. For lighting fixtures and decorative objects, we adopted the theme of “Flowing Landscapes,” selecting high-purity synthetic resins and corrosion-resistant alloys to ensure that these pieces retain their elegant forms—remaining free from corrosion and fading—even within a semi-open, forest-like environment.
As remarked by the owner of the Mission Hills Villa: “This comprehensive solution has truly allowed us to enjoy the unique residential quality of ‘opening the window to see the forest’—without suffering any intrusion from the natural world.” The furniture and furnishings not only blend seamlessly—visually—with the lush greenery of the golf course outside the windows, but, more importantly, their exceptional physical stability has completely resolved the issues of leather deterioration and hard-to-clean crevices that previously plagued us. Months after taking occupancy, the interior’s artistic ambiance remains as fresh as ever, and the materials retain their exquisite tactile quality. The owner affirms that, through scientific forecasting of the micro-environment and innovative material selection, we have successfully created for Mission Hills a veritable sanctuary—one capable of long-term symbiosis with nature while ensuring highly efficient maintenance.
