Case Description
We created a deeply customized series of office furniture systems for the Zibi House Sales Center—solutions that seamlessly blend the sculptural artistry of fine art with the functional demands of a modern business environment.
As a landmark space, Zibi House presented a core challenge: navigating the building’s exceptionally rigorous “minimalist curvilinear logic.” The client’s primary pain point stemmed from the interior’s abundance of continuous curved facades and fluid circulation paths; standard off-the-shelf office furniture—characterized by its rigid, rectilinear geometry—would not only fail to integrate with the spatial structure but would also disrupt the building’s inherent aesthetic fluidity. Furthermore, the sales center required the versatility to transition between diverse scenarios—from high-end real estate showcases to intensive business negotiations. Consequently, the owner urgently sought a suite of custom furniture that could visually “dissolve” into the architecture while simultaneously delivering a tactile and functional experience of uncompromising luxury.
Our solution involved implementing a technical strategy centered on “equal-curvature structural fitting” and “tactile balance craftsmanship.” Regarding the spatial layout, we leveraged 3D digital modeling and 5-axis CNC machining technologies to create custom workstations and negotiation islands that seamlessly align with the curvature of the walls, ensuring that the edges of the furniture maintain a precise, congruent alignment with the building’s curved surfaces. In terms of material application—and to counterbalance the inherent coolness of the expansive industrial-style surfaces—we selected natural cork veneers and hand-polished cool-toned metals. Through a gradient textural treatment, the office desktops visually transition from a perception of hardness to one of warmth and softness. Additionally, all power and data ports were integrated using an inductive, concealed design, thereby preserving the pristine integrity of the minimalist planar surfaces.
The operators of Zibi House offered the following assessment: “This office furniture system perfectly translates the design language of Studio Paolo Ferrari; the boundaries between the furniture and the space have been completely dissolved, creating a holistic impression akin to a large-scale art installation. In practical use, the ergonomically designed curved supports have significantly enhanced the comfort level during business negotiations. The owner views our delivery not merely as office furnishings, but as an extension of the space’s aesthetic vision—a project in which our meticulous control over craftsmanship details successfully empowered the sales center to establish a highly distinctive and internationally sophisticated brand image.”
