Case description

Our factory provided a comprehensive, custom furniture solution for Folьк Restaurant, covering the open bar area, central dining section, window-side booth seating, and the scenic terrace. Our primary deliverables included lighting fixtures, light-hued solid wood dining tables, woven-craft dining chairs, multi-layered solid wood bar counters, and bespoke storage units. By artfully blending traditional folk elements with a modern industrial-loft aesthetic, we achieved a sensory equilibrium—balancing warm textures with robust structural forms—within a space charged with artistic tension.

A core challenge inherent in the project’s context lay in the precise control of negative space and material tactility amidst a high density of traditional folk decor. The client’s specific pain point was this: the space featured a profusion of suspended traditional ceramic vessels and red floral art lamps, creating an overwhelming visual presence. If the furniture design were overly intricate, the interior would appear cluttered and cramped; conversely, if it were too simplistic, it would fail to adequately complement the deep-seated folk heritage the architect sought to convey. Furthermore, the restaurant’s open bar counter was massive in scale and subject to frequent contact with hot food and steam; traditional panel materials, under conditions of uneven heating, are highly prone to surface blistering or joint cracking. The owner therefore urgently required a furniture solution that could not only harmonize perfectly with the folk aesthetic but also withstand the rigorous wear and tear of high-intensity commercial operations.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a proprietary “hidden anti-deformation tie-rod” technology alongside a “composite texture reconstruction” strategy. Specifically for the expansive bar counter, we developed a solid wood splicing technique featuring an embedded internal steel skeleton. By pre-embedding anti-deformation tie-rods within the timber structure, we effectively neutralized the internal stresses caused by temperature fluctuations and humidity shifts—a solution subsequently validated through a rigorous 72-hour accelerated aging test involving high-frequency cycles of alternating dryness and humidity. To optimize tactile quality, we employed a process combining physical wire-brushing with a matte, penetrating finish; this technique endows the solid wood surfaces with an authentic, hand-sanded texture—offering both slip resistance and durability, while imparting a substantial, weighty feel reminiscent of traditional ceramics. Finally, to optimize spatial circulation, and based on the specific spacing between the bar and the freestanding dining tables shown in the project visuals, we custom-designed dining chairs featuring inwardly tapered bases. This design ensures seating stability while simultaneously maximizing visual openness and floor-level transparency throughout the dining area. The project results demonstrate that the custom-made furniture successfully blends into the rich tapestry of folk-style furnishings, serving as a serene yet powerful structural anchor within the space. The furniture’s light wood tones establish a warm visual harmony with the surrounding ceramic vessels and red lanterns; furthermore, even during peak visitor periods, the stain-resistant properties of the furniture surfaces have significantly reduced cleaning costs for the operations team.
