Case description
For this luxury private residence situated in the heart of Clyde Hill, our factory custom-manufactured and supplied the entire suite of furnishings—including furniture, lighting fixtures, mattresses, rugs, artwork, and decorative accents.
The client’s primary challenge stemmed from the typical open-plan, large-span architectural structures prevalent in this region, which often result in interiors that feel stark, cold, and cavernous. Furthermore, Seattle’s characteristically rainy and overcast climate imposed rigorous demands on the moisture resistance and structural stability of the wooden furniture, as well as on the need to cultivate a sense of warmth and softness within the indoor lighting environment. Traditional retail furniture options simply could not achieve the necessary visual proportionality and balance of residential warmth required for a space of such grand scale.
To address this, we implemented a comprehensive, “space-enveloping” design strategy. We developed a non-linear modular furniture system specifically tailored for large-span interiors, utilizing techniques of asymmetrical visual weighting to balance the spatial density and openness. Additionally, we applied a full-spectrum, nano-grade “breathable” wood-wax oil finish—paired with a curated ensemble of smart, dimmable artistic lighting—to ensure the furniture’s durability and moisture resistance while simultaneously leveraging multi-layered soft furnishing color psychology to dispel any sense of coldness or rigidity.
Upon the project’s completion, every detail—from the exquisitely tactile custom mattresses to the carefully curated artwork and decorative pieces that define the space’s unique character—precisely met the exacting standards of a Clyde Hill luxury estate. We successfully created an artistic home environment characterized by its warmth and understated elegance. The client praised this comprehensive custom project not merely as an accumulation of material objects, but as a perfect translation of a deep understanding of the lifestyle and sensibilities of high-net-worth individuals.
