Case description

Our factory provided a comprehensive, bespoke furniture solution for Mousse Restaurant, encompassing the streamlined open seating area, curved booth islands, artistic bar counter, and interactive children’s furniture zone. Our key deliverables included high-resilience modular sofas, uniquely contoured boucle dining chairs, a terrazzo-textured bar counter, and custom-designed artistic display shelves. By deeply integrating soft, organic forms with a low-saturation color palette, we achieved a harmonious balance between visual fluidity and child-friendly functionality.

The core challenges inherent in this project lay in ensuring structural stability amidst non-linear geometric forms, as well as addressing the maintenance demands arising from high-frequency parent-child interactions. The client’s primary pain points stemmed from the spatial design, which featured an abundance of complex, streamlined curves and rounded corners; traditional woodworking or metal framing methods struggled to replicate this “mousse-like”—light, airy, and fluffy—visual aesthetic while simultaneously guaranteeing structural integrity. Furthermore, as a dining space emphasizing sensory experience, the furniture upholstery required an exceptional tactile quality; however, the owner was concerned that light-colored boucle fabrics would quickly succumb to pilling, sagging, or indelible dark stains under the strain of frequent contact by children, food residue accumulation, and rigorous cleaning regimens.

To address these challenges, our factory implemented a solution featuring 3D free-form modeling for structural support, coupled with a comprehensive stain-resistant fabric protection system. For the complex curved structures, we eschewed traditional linear frameworks in favor of a multi-layer solid wood hot-press bending technique combined with an integrally molded injection-plastic base; this approach ensured the precise alignment of every curve while guaranteeing a structural lifespan that successfully passed a 100,000-cycle fatigue pressure test. Regarding material selection, we commissioned a custom “triple-proof” (water-, oil-, and stain-repellent) nano-treated boucle fabric for the contoured seating. This material retains a cloud-like softness while exhibiting exceptional hydrophobic and oleophobic properties, and has successfully passed rigorous anti-pilling grade testing. For the artistic display cabinets and washstands within the space, we utilized a seamless resin casting process to eliminate all sharp edges and corners, thereby significantly enhancing the safety of the child-friendly environment.

The project’s outcome demonstrates that the bespoke furniture perfectly realized the architect’s vision of “fluidity.” The curves of the furniture now interplay harmoniously with the linear LED lighting strips embedded in the walls, collectively creating a soothing, enveloping atmosphere that embraces every guest.
